Teaching Philosophy

I believe in creating a supportive and engaging environment within my private studio. As a cellist with experience in classical music as well as rock, pop, and musical theater, I encourage my students to follow their own musical tastes and interests. I pair the music that inspires them with scales, technique building exercises, and music theory.

I believe that music is an incredible tool through which to explore creativity, learn self discipline, and enjoy the rewards that come from hard work and dedication!

Education and Background

As a musician who began my training in a public school music program, I have a passion for teaching and working with programs that give back to the community. I maintain a private teaching studio and have worked as a cello teacher, music theory teacher, and chamber music coach for organizations such as the Harmony Project, the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra, the Asia America Youth Symphony, and the Community Arts Partnership. I currently teach with the Washington Heights Community Conservatory.
